Q: I made a mistake on the selection screen, how do I change my avatar?
A: Unfortunately, it is not possible to change your avatar after you've chosen one.

Q: I can't continue my game! What do I do?
A: Please contact our support staff with your issue so that they can check for possible technical issues and forward them to our development team if needed.

Q: Can I have more than one user account?
A: According to our Terms and Conditions, every individual player can have one user account. If you are using more than one account, and thus have the potential to gain an unfair advantage in game compared to other players, we may cancel your user account(s) immediately.
To prevent your user account from receiving a permanent ban from the game, please contact our support staff via the contact form if more than one user is playing with your IP address.

Q: How do I delete my user account?
A: If you want to delete your user account, please contact our support staff.
Please note that your request for account deletion may take some time to be processed.

Q: How do I log into the game?
A: After logging in with your uPlay account details, all you have to do is click on the “Play Now” button.

Q: What commands can I use in the chat window?
A: By entering /help into the chat window you will receive a list of all possible commands.
/join chat global-[channel number]
→ changes the global chat channel.
/w [username]
→ opens a whisper channel with a particular user.
/ignoreadd [username]
→ puts the user on your blacklist to be ignored.
/ignoreremove [username]
→ removes a user from your blacklist and from your ignore.
/report username [reason]
→ reports the user for rule violations.

Q: What can I do when someone is insulting me in game chat or on forums?
A: If someone is insulting you in the game chat, please contact an online moderator with the whisper command and ask for assistance. You can also use the report command to report the player to us.
If the insults take place on our forums, or if you spot other violations of our Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions, please use the private message feature on our forums to report the incident to one of our forum moderators. You can send a private message on forums by either clicking on the user name on forum or via the button “private messages”.

Q: How can I tell if the user is a moderator or admin?
A: Moderators and admins are listed on the forums. Their user profiles will have a user title like "admin" or "moderator". Blue Byte-admins in chat are displayed in blue font and with the tag BB_.
Moderators are displayed in yellow with the tag MOD_ in front of their name.

Q: When and where does Silent Hunter Online take place?
A: Silent Hunter Online is set during the Second World War and focuses on the conflict for supremacy in the Atlantic. The Allied naval forces will therefore confront the German navy, and both sides will use authentically reproduced technologies from the WWII era.
In the role of German fleet commanders, the players must drive the enemy forces out of the Atlantic, sector by sector. The later stage of the game is uncertain, and may be altered through dynamic campaigns by the players themselves.
