What if I torpedoed a u boat in error? Any consequences and prestige points available?

Easy. You can't torp a u-boat. :D

Correct, in the game is no "friendly fire". you cannot hit an other u-boat, also ramming is impossible, they would just pass through each other. The same behaviour do the enemy ships have.
