Queston about "Chances of resuming game development" and the not so bleak answer!
Over in the German part of the forum I posted the following question
"What are the chances that the developers are going to pick up game development again at some point? I have the bad feeling that the chances are not really good for something like this to happen..."
and thought you guys might be interested in the not so bleak answer as well, so I translated SubCruiser's reply:
"Hello,
there's no doubt that the community is very interested in the resumption of the game's development. What's more there is a prevailing willingness to contribute to it as well.
Pleas weren't shrugged off insofar as the decision to discontinue development didn't end with the cancellation of the game. To the contrary: The support team was expanded, advertisement continued and work continued on the server hardware as well (the success of the latter is a discussion for another thread as opinions about the success are divergent). The main point is certainly the cooperation with the developer "Sproing", which currently is still "on ice".
Nobody at Ubisoft is announcing that "things will continue at a given date" nor does anyone state "let's just ax the game because it's not worth it". There is currently no further information to be had; despite the valiant efforts of BB_Wolfberry who is still trying her best to talk to the people responsible for SHO. Due to those efforts those responsible seem to be aware that there is not only the overwhelming wish from the community to see a continuation of the game's development, but that the support is rising."
