Are you involved in that project? Some of the German community started a wiki, too ( showiki.de.vu) but both websites still have to do a lot to become well-filled wikis.

Don't fear to ask. There are handsome captains in the chat. Some collect "players help players" information in the forum, others in the Wiki.

Have friends in your friend list. To add somebody use the icon below your avatar and the "add" function there. Or click in chat window directly at a player and select "send friend request".
Now a friend can invite you. If you want to do it, start a mission, change to strategic map (world map), click at mission icon and select "invite friend". Now you can select friends from the popup friend list. That's all.
