hi folks. a returning player here. i found after i was gone that one of my subs disappeared. is there a list of all subs available so i can identify it? i think it was the second sub you get - one from a mission. maybe the type IIB. i could not find any new sub hulls from the store except the typeII A and C for gold. am i doing something wrong/missing something? thanks

where was your boat when you left the game, in bunker or at sea? It's not a round based game, silent hunter online runs without stops and you have no savegame. At sea your boat is in danger - get rammed, get bombed ... and sometimes it could disappear for a while due to server issues. In bunker your boat is safe and only there!

In case you lost your boat and have a free bunker slot:
go to Shop (blue button beside avatar or in depot menu), select u-boats, select type II boats, scroll down to auxiliary boat and get one (one!) for free.

pretty sure it was the type IIB that i got from a mission now that i searched a little. it was in my bunker some year ago i guess. now its gone. i have sent a ticket and fingers crossed. auxiliary is no point since i had crew and equipment lvl 3 on my sub and i had just built IIC :/ i recall things more clear as i get back to the game also you tell me to scroll down in shop but i only see IIA and IIC and they cost only gold. im quite sure they had to cost points. at least unequipped

If the last time you played was over a year ago, I am afraid there is a chance that there has too much time passed to trace the IIB any longer, so I am not sure that our support can help. Also Subcruiser is right, as long as you do not already have an auxiliary sub you should be able to get the free one from the shop.

If you construct a new sub, you need a free slot in your bunker and can there select the type of sub you want to build. The hull will be delivered to you and you will have to pick the technologies from the shop to built your sub, not the u-boat tab. The u-boat tab contains all loaded and unloaded fully constructed subs for credits as well as the free auxiliary sub.

i fully understand i guess ill just need to invest time to get myself back to the stage i was on. only pain i think will be leveling crew. whats the fastest way to get money/crew exp? any specific missions or things to do? also i read there are proximity activated missions. how/where do i look for them? thanks.

efficient:
do not more than the mission says. torpedoes often cost more than you get for sinkings (in lower phases, later you will not know where-to with all the Prestige Points). do recon missions that saves ammo. watch out for the missions with better gain, especially gold star missions. complete the missions of the campaign progress. level up your crew and officers to become better (faster, less misses). recycle parts you can use at other boats.
unknown missions - can appear everywhere, you will just get informed by pop-up and see the missions at the map (with ? icon), also have a look at mission types in showiki.net (en.showiki.net)

read all wiki articles, german included. its time for the next Questions: what is this thing with the planes and leaving a node open? i dont get it. next Q: after a build a sub with the most simple parts, can i replace only certain parts for better ones or do i have to get a total new sub. next Q: any way to transfer officers/crew/parts between subs? next Q: i heard of salvageing subs, how does that work? thanks for all help so far and future one. if new questions arise ill post :P

1st - if you completed all mission nodes it seems you will never see any plane in further own missions, some players would miss the fun/challenge to fight with them, so they don't finish at least one mission node
2nd - you can dismantle all parts and replace them by others (which fit to the boat type), in the shop you see the item description and below of the picture there is a line for which subs they fit
3rd - of course! especially a lv-5-crew is welcome at a better boat. You have to "dismiss" them to the depot, there you will find them back and from there you can send them to another sub
4th - if a sub is so heavily damaged that it sunk a popup appears and aks you to salvage the sub by gold (very expensive) or abandon it, there is a countdown of 4 hours. Hint (from wiki) - as long as your boat gets damage and is going to sink you can try (internal boat menu, upper right picture when at sea) to repair the hull with a few credits, once the hull is intact it's more probable to get the boat back to the bunker (and finish the other repairs there). Hint2: if parts are damaged and their status is below 50% you can let repair them at sea up to 50% by your crew. Select the parts for the queue at internal boat menu, additional always "send repair team" by giving order to the engineer.

thanks. useful. i should clarify what i meant by salvage: dismantle the sub and store the parts in depot. from what you tell me it is possible to remove single parts from the sub and replace them with better ones, correct? next Q: if i train officers to lvl 5 for example on a type IIC and for some reason i have another type IIC. can i use those officers on both subs?
