    Angry Sub destroyed

i think the only 2 options u have when your sub is destroyed: to pay with gold (real money) or to abandon the sub permanently - it;s total bullshit .

loosing a sub, u played for a long time and payed with prestige (an event that will be quite frequent) forever, it's devastating. we should be able to recover it with prestige - payable in an unlimited amount of time after. so we can play with other subs (or the auxiliary one) for a time to be able to get the prestige to redeem our leveled up sub.

getting the auxiliary typeIIA as a replacement and having to start from scratch, makes me abandon the game really fast.

You guys should have read the Silent Hunter Online manual posted in this forum. In this manual you get the fact handed to you that in the shop u can buy an auxiliary submarine type IIA that cost 0 gold. It's a loaner yes, not upgradable. But with that sub u can do missions to generate prestige credits. And that is needed to build yourself a new submarine from scratch. And next time u are less gung ho and more like a naval submarine captain taking calculated risks.

    Happy Hunting.

    eh, its not all bad.

but still, it would be nice to recover ones sub, and repair it instead of losing if forever, crew and all.

This definitely sounds too harsh a 'punishment', its a game after all. This is likely to detract a lot of players and give the game poorer reviews. Especially since the loss can come from a single mistake, like when the batteries in my mouse died in the middle of a mission today

Sometimes I think some players want to take all reality off game. Boat lost means on sea bottom, who can repair it?
Boat lost why? Rammed? Fail of capt'n. Gratification would be court martial, not a new boat.
Here in game you get (!) a filled new boat for free to earn points for new boats, technologies, ammo... any wishes left?

Write it into your complete guide, please, No. 1: "You are in dangerous waters! Drive carefully."

Will do... can you give me a sub to test your theory?

No. Sorry. That's it for me. I recognize a blatant money making mechanic when I see one. This game unfortunately is going to have all the faults of the F2P model which is blighting the online gaming world. I'm not interested in sticking around, and I will certainly. not be paying another micro-transaction in any game.
Your player-base, if you ever get one, is going to be the two types of people who this model attracts. (I am pausing here in real life, as I search for words that don't appear too insulting. experience of F2P games makes this hard.).
People who have no access to any kind of money at all, and who are looking for a free game to play. I think you know that by this I mean hordes of schoolchildren, annoying, dumb and tolerated by Devs because as any parent knows, once they are allowed to start playing because 'Daddy it;'s FREE!' quickly begin begging Mummy to buy them a new Ship/Gun/Hat because 'ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE ONE!!!'.
People with money but no lives, boring people, people who are bad at games, but who are willing to spend the money they have no one else to spend on, into aquiring every single little item that pops up in the online store. I know by experience that spending time playing a game with these losers is to invite suicidal/murderous thoughts. Really, they are people who I would have no time for in my offline life, and it's just depressing to be around them even online.
Anyone recommend a good subscription based game, preferably one that is difficult, complicated and painful. That tends to filter out the pond life.
